Yesterday I received access to the TechEd Speaker’s Portal, which confirms me as an official TechEd Speaker! From here I can download PowerPoint templates, upload my presentation, request virtual machine access, speak to staff, book my flight and hotel package.
Here is the synopsis of my presentation:
WCL318
Using Windows Preinstallation Environment (PE) 3.0 to Troubleshoot and Fix Problems, and to Capture and Deploy WIM Images
Breakout Session
David Franklyn
In this session, learn how to create a Windows PE 3.0 iso that can be burned to a CD or a USB flash disk, and then use the disk to boot to Windows PE on malfunctioning systems and recover data, repair hard disks, partitions and/or volumes. We cover in-depth the various tools present in Windows PE and how they aid recovery and repair. Then we demonstrate using PE with imagex.exe to capture a sysprepped reference image, and then deploy the image to another computer.
Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be planning, creating and testing my presentation.
I’ll post items about it here.
